Standard Chartered has named Anuruk Karoonyavanich as new global head of equity syndicate replacing Tom Welch, who has retired from the firm.
In his new role, Karoonyavanich will report to A. Rajagopal, the bank’s global head of equity capital markets, reported FinanceAsia.

Karoonyavanich previously served as head of ECM, Southeast Asia at Standard Chartered.
Before to this, he worked with Nomura as head of ECM, Southeast Asia, from and also roles at Lehman Brothers in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore, and was most recently head of ECM, Southeast Asia.
Welch joined Standard Chartered as global head of cash equity sales replacing Natalie Brink who was promoted to global head of equity corporate management.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Welch worked with Deutsche Bank, where he served as head of research sales for Asia, ex-Japan. He also worked in equity sales at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.
