Azzi will replace Pik-Yee Foong who has left to join Hong Leong Bank in Malaysia.

Prior to taking up this position, Azzi was regional head of global markets and co-head of wholesale banking for the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan (MENAP) based in Dubai.

He oined Standard Chartered in 2008 as head of trading and in 2009 he was appointed as regional head, global markets and co-head wholesale banking, for MENAP.

He also worked with Bear Stearns Asia Ltd., where he was senior managing director/head of Synthetic Equity & Securities Finance for Asia & Japan. Before that, he spent 7 years with Deutsche Bank in New York and Hong Kong.
