The bank in an e-mailed statement said that Nathani will remain at the bank during his notice period ensuring a smooth transition to his successor.
The resignation of Nathani is the latest in a series of departures taking place at the bank as part of a management overhaul after falling earnings.
This includes the departure of chairman John Peace, CEO Peter Sands, Asia head Jaspal Bindra and, head of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Americas Viswanathan Shankar, and CEO of the bank’s Islamic banking unit Afaq Khan.
Further, Bloomberg reported that the bank’s Bahrain CEO Hassan Jarrar is too set to depart later this year to head Bahrain Islamic Bank BSC.
