Standard Chartered Saadiq, the global Islamic banking business of Standard Chartered, has confirmed the departure of its CEO Afaq Khan.

The bank said that a replacement for Khan will be unveiled in due course.

Khan, who served at Standard Chartered since 2003, is the second senior figure to exit Standard Chartered Saadiq in the last six months.

Wasim Saifi, global head of Islamic banking for consumer banking, left the group at end of October 2014.

Commenting on the departure, the bank said, "Under his leadership, Standard Chartered Saadiq has built a comprehensive product suite across businesses from retail, corporate banking, treasury products, private banking, capital market and corporate finance solutions, many of which have been award winning."
