Square Mile Investment Research has appointed former Threadneedle chief, Simon Davies, as its new chairman and founding investor.
Davies, who has over 30 years experience in investment management, currently serves as chairman of JP Morgan Overseas Investment Trust, and a non-executive director of Grainger PLC, and Old Mutual Wealth Management.

He joined Threadneedle in 1995 as chief investment officer, becoming CEO in 1999 and holding the role of chairman from 2007 until his retirement from the role in 2012.
Davies has also worked as chairman of Cofunds and served as chairman of the Investment Management Association between 2005 and 2007.
