Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Veirano Advogados have been identified as leading legal advisers for mergers and acquisitions in South & Central America in 2025, based on data published by GlobalData.
According to the latest figures from GlobalData’s Financial Deals Database, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom headed the rankings by deal value, providing counsel on transactions totalling $11.2bn.

Veirano Advogados recorded the highest number of deals in the region, advising on 17 separate transactions.
Other law firms also featured prominently in the volume category.
Posse Herrera & Ruiz Abogados ranked second with 13 deals.
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom handled 10 deals, while Marval O’Farrell & Mairal and Mayer Brown were involved in seven and six transactions respectively.

By GlobalDataOn the basis of deal value, A&O Shearman placed second with $11bn in advised transactions. Kirkland & Ellis followed with $9bn, while Mayer Brown and Baker Botts each advised on deals valued at $3.4bn.
GlobalData lead analyst Aurojyoti Bose commented: “Veirano Advogados was one of only three advisers to record double-digit deal volume in 2025. Notably, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom was also among this trio and apart from leading by value, secured the third position by volume. Meanwhile, Veirano Advogados narrowly missed touching the 20-deal mark during the year.”
