Smith & Williamson has hired the ex-JP Morgan veteran John Anderson to manage its £27.8m fixed Interest trust, effective 23 July 2014.

In his new role, Anderson will manage the Fixed Interest Trust as a partner, subject to regulatory approval.

He will also manage the trust together with the fund’s current co-manager Chris Lynas, who will now work as Anderson’s deputy while fellow co-manager Ian Kenny will step down from his current position to focus on Short Dated Corporate Bond fund.

Prior to joining Smith & Williamson, Anderson has worked for two years at JPMorgan, running its Sterling Corporate Bond fund.

He also held the roles of head of credit at Gartmore since 2009, and as head of fixed interest at Rensburg Sheppards for nine years.
