Smith & Williamson has appointed Giles Worthington to run its £23m European Growth trust.

Worthington most recently served at RiverCrest Capital, where he was responsible for managing the group’s European Equity Alpha fund for the past three years.
Before that he worked for 11 years at M&G, where he ran the M&G European Smaller Companies fund between 2000 and 2011, and was designated as head of its European equity desk from 2007.
In his new role, Worthington will succeed interim manager Michael Pascall, who has now departed from the firm.
Pascall joined as co-manager of the fund in 2009 to assist Mark Pignatelli, and was designated as lead manager following the retirement of Pignatelli at the end of last year.
