Skandia, part of Old Mutual Wealth, has revealed that its UK sales director Steve Powell is planning to retire at the end of 2013, after working with the company for 23 years.

The company said it is currently searching for a replacement for the role.

Skandia’s UK managing director Peter Mann said Powell has had a long career at the company.

"During that time Skandia has become recognised as a leading provider, serving the financial adviser community and Steve has played a key role in helping to build that position," Mann said.

"He has been loyal to this business over a long period of time and everyone here wishes him well as he looks to hang up his boots."

Powell said, "I am extremely proud of what we have achieved during my time at Skandia."

Old Mutual Wealth, comprising Skandia and Old Mutual Global Investors, currently oversees £75.2 billion in customer investments as at 30 June 2013 with operations in the UK, Continental Europe and several international markets.
