Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has hired David Painter as new head of trustee and depositary services in the UK.
Based in London, Painter will report to Bertrand Blanchard, SGSS’ Country Manager in the UK, alongside Michèle Besse, global head of depositary control.

In his new role, Painter will be responsible for launching and managing trustee and depositary services in the UK for a range of investment funds, including UCITS and alternative funds, as well as developing a range of integrated client solutions.
SGSS said that its range of trustee and depositary services incuding asset safekeeping, cash monitoring and oversight duties will provide wealth fund managers and asset managers with full post-trade value-chain ranging from global execution to global custody and to middle-office.
Prior to joining SGSS, Painter has worked at JP Morgan Trustee & Depositary Company as director of trustee client relationships and director of business development. Previously, he also worked at Chase Manhattan Trustees Limited as vice president, trustee manager and later as senior trust manager.
He started his career at Midland Bank Trust Company, where he spent over ten years in various roles such as private client trusteeship and portfolio management and also worked at HSBC Securities.
