The firm was established in 2001 by chief executive Tom Sheridan and corporate development head Urquhart Stewart.
Stewart said that he would not prefer returning to the ethic of a large corporation owing to rumours that its external shareholders are looking to sell.
7IM is currently owned privately by its partners, as well as insurance companies Zurich and Aegon.
At present, the firm manages £7bn in assets and employs 170 people in its London office.
