The mandate, which will gain exposure in the UK equity market through bottom-up stock selection along with top-down macro-economic view, has been previously managed by Hardy at Polar Capital since August 2011.
Additionally, Four Capital will join Invesco, Jupiter, Lindsell Train and Los Angeles Capital Management within the UK equity allocation in the strategic portfolios, which include a range of seven managers of multi-asset fund.
Jason Collins, head of the UK investment management unit at SEI, said: "His team’s long-term assessment of value combined with shorter-term, technical, sentiment and macroeconomic variables offer the ability to produce competitive results in varying market environments."
Derrick Dunne, founding partner at Four, said: "His contrarian value approach with a macro overlay marks him out from other managers and it is a great testament to his skill and experience that SEI, with its global research capabilities, has decided to retain his investment management services for its UK Equity mandate."
