Grim is taking over his new role after having already spent 17 years with the same division, most recently as the assistant chief counsel in its office of chief counsel.

As the deputy director of its division of investment management, Grim will serve under division director Norm Champ.

Grim had joined the SEC in September 1995 as a staff attorney in the division’s office of investment company regulation and in January 1998, he moved to the division’s Office of Chief Counsel, where he has served in a variety of positions, including since September 2007 as assistant chief counsel.

Commenting on the appointment, Norm Champ, director of the division of investment management said: "We are pleased to welcome Dave to his new role as deputy director of the division of investment management.
