Schroders has appointed Ashley Lester as new global head of research within its multi-asset investments and portfolio solutions business.
In his new role, Lester will report to Nico Marais, head of multi-asset investments and portfolio solutions.

Lester will join the business unit, which has $114.7bn in assets under management, in New York.
Prior to joining Schroders, Lester worked as head of fixed income and multi-asset class research at MSCI. Prior to this, he served as head of market risk research at Morgan Stanley and also worked as an assistant professor of economics at Brown University and a visiting assistant professor of finance and economics and Columbia Business School.
