British fund manager Schroders has appointed former Nomura CFO Shigesuke Kashiwagi as president and country head of Japan, effective 1 July 2016.

Kashiwagi will replace Guy Henriques, who has been in the president role since 2012. Henriques will return to a role in the UK later in 2016.

Based out of Tokyo, Kashiwagi will report to Schroders CEO of Asia Pacific region Lieven Debruyne.

Kashiwagi served as Nomura executive managing director and CFO since April 2013. He also worked as senior managing director of group strategy and executive office with particular focus on regulatory strategy, as president and CEO of Nomura Holdings America and as head of global fixed income.
