Santander Private Banking (UK) has appointed Sue Hayes as its new managing director, subject to FSA approval.
Hayes will succeed Alan Mathewson, who will continue to work on the retail distribution side of the business alongside Charlotte Hogg, who will become head of retail distribution and intermediaries at Santander.

In her new role, Hayes will be responsible for Santander’s on and offshore private banking business, encompassing Cater Allen Private Bank, Santander Private Banking in Jersey and Alliance & Leicester International in the Isle of Man.
Previously, Hayes was managing director of Santander Business Banking. Prior to her role in the business banking division she was head of retail products.
In addition to appointment, the bank is also expanding its asset management business in 2013 following the arrival of Tom Caddick and Toby Vaughan, former LV= Asset Management multi-managers.
