Santander Asset Management has appointed Ileana Salas as global head of institutional sales.

Salas in her new role will be based in London and will be responsible for building and leading the company’s global institutional sales capability.

She will also leading the development of the money manager’s key relationships with sovereign wealth funds, retirement plans, investment consultants, corporations, insurers, wholesale and family-office clients.

Previously, Salas was head of business development and sales for Europe and the Middle East at Brazilian investment manager Bradesco Asset Management.

Prior to that, she was with Ad Capital and also had stints at ABN AMRO and Gartmore.
