Sanlam UK, part of South African financial services group Sanlam, has hired ex-Barclays Wealth and Investment executive David Mason as its new COO.
In the new role, Mason will be responsible for driving the development of Sanlam UK’s operational platform.

He will also have a seat on the firm’s executive committee and will report to its CEO Jonathan Polin.
Mason has experience in spearheading digital innovation projects for over two decades. He spent most of his career at Barclays Wealth, serving as global head of IT strategy and architecture, regional CIO and chief of staff to the firm’s COO.
During his tenure at Barclays Wealth, he headed more than 200 IT professionals and helped in establishing new technology centres in India and Singapore.
He most recently established two fintech start-ups in the Google TechHub campus as well as served as the program lead for the launch of Saranac Partners, a wealth management firm.
