Sanlam International Investment has taken over fund research and selection from Sanlam Private Investment (SPI) following exit of Paul Surguy to Kleinwort Benson.
Surguy, who formerly served as head of managed funds at SPI, departed the company after 15 years.

Sanlam International Investments offers advice on global mandates managed in the Sanlam group and includes over $7bn in assets under advice within multiple services, such as the Sanlam UK’s Accel model and model portfolios for Sanlam Fund Solutions.
Sanlam International Investments is led by Justin Greeley, who will take responsibility for the Income Study apart from his Sanlam World Equity fund worth $1.8bn.
Greeley will be supported by Barry Cowen who will be designated as senior portfolio manager, and a team of five investment managers who will be responsible for researching funds.
SPI said that the bi-annual Income Study, which has been in operation for over 30 years now, would continue to be produced and distributed in the same way.

Richard Champion, chief investment officer of Sanlam, said, "What this event presented was an ideal opportunity for us to have closer dialogue with the other parts of Sanlam and to build one centre of excellence that services all Sanlam entities in the UK. There was to some extent of doubling up of coverage in some areas and perhaps not enough in others. Our new structure addresses this."
