Rothschild has named Kevin Gardiner as a global investment strategist for its wealth management business, effective 18 August 2014.
In his new role, Gardiner will play an important role in the global investment committee and will work closely with the group’s senior investment staff.

In addition, he will also offer macro investment advice that will form part of Rothchild’s investment thinking and portfolio construction, which will have a direct impact on client portfolios and support investment research.
Gardiner will report to Veit de Maddalena and Richard Martin, global co-heads of Rothschild’s wealth management & trust business alongside Mark Kary, head of Rothschild’s wealth management business in the UK.
Maddalena and Martin said that the new role is fundamental to Rothschild’s investment ethos that focuses on wealth preservation and providing real returns.
Gardiner has joined Rothschild from Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, where he joined in 2009 and most recently served as Europe CIO, heading a team of 20 portfolio analysts and investment strategists.
