In her new role, Platt will work with high-net-worth (HNW) clients who have financial interests in the US.
Prior to joining RBC, Platt worked for Barclays and Credit Suisse Group, where she said she managed nearly US$240 million in client assets and generated annual revenues of more than US$2 million.
Commenting on her appointment, Platt said: "My Latin America client base was so important to me I needed to find a place where there was true commitment to the area.
"The high-net-worth individual in Latin America is obviously growing and they’re looking to diversify their wealth outside their country."
