RBC Wealth Management, part of Royal Bank of Canada, has appointed Mike Moodie as the new vice president and managing director of ultra high net worth (UHNW) at RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean, effective 1 September 2013.

Moodie will help lead the coordination and servicing of UHNW clients based in the British Isles and Caribbean. He will jointly report to Paul Patterson, deputy chairman of UHNW at RBC Wealth Management as well as Stuart Rutledge, head of RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean.

RBC Wealth Management said that the creation of the new role is part of its strategy to increase its focus on international UHNW clients, especially those from emerging markets who use London as a hub to service their wealth management needs.

Moodie, previously head of RBC Management – UK, will continue to be based in London.

RBC Wealth Management stated that Philip Harris, head of private client wealth management, UK, will join the British Isles and Caribbean Operating Committee, effective 1 September 2013. Harris will report to Stuart Rutledge, head of RBC Wealth Management – British Isles and Caribbean.
