Raymond James Financial, a US a diversified financial services company, has poached three investment advisers, previously associated with Wells Fargo Advisors and UBS.

The group of three advisors Robert Leggett, James Tharin and Clint Sorenson, has established a new firm Emerald Asset Management, which has offices in Cary and Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

The new company will use Raymond James’ independent advisory platform to provide wealth management services.

Raymond James Financial investment advisors division president Bill Van Law was quoted by thinkadvisor.com as sayioing, "Welcoming Robert, James, Clint and their team to Raymond James is part of a continuing trend of larger fee-based teams departing wirehouses for the independent RIA model."

Prior to associating with Raymond James, the team of three advisors had over $200m in combined client assets and annual fees of more than $1.9 m.

Sorenson and Tharin came from Wells Fargo Advisors, whereas Leggett left UBS in late 2013 to join Purshe Kaplan Sterling Investments before moving to Raymond James.
