Raymond James has hired Matt Ransom as new vice president to head new financial advisor training and development for its private client group education and practice management team, effective 1 August 2014.

In his new role, Ransom will oversee the training program, which helps new advisors develop the skills and education necessary to become successful as well as manage the training team that supports the program.

Ransom, who joined Raymond James in 2003, worked as a financial advisor for eight years. Ransom also previously contributed to Practice Intelligence, Raymond James’ comprehensive practice management training program.

He was named as assistant regional director for the Midwest region in 2006, where he was supporting and supervising over 300 advisors with more than US$28 billion in assets under administration.
