Candriam’s head of client relations Netherlands Stefaan Coosemans and senior client relationship manager Fanny Ruighaver said: "Institutional Investors and Banks are placing increasing pressure on companies to improve their sustainable principles, while at the same time expanding their universe of investment options.

"As a result of the special selection terms, the Sustainable & Responsible Investing (SRI) filter ensures that investors are better protected against negative shocks in times of crisis and that yields can be equal to non-sustainable funds," he added.

As of October 2014, SRI accounts for nearly 20% of Candriam’s total assets under management.

Candriam, which has about EUR78bln of AUM, employs a team of eight sustainability specialists and offers a range of sustainable funds across all asset classes.
