The research team will include both open-ended and closed-ended funds across all regions and asset classes.

Wood, who joined Quilter Cheviot in 2012 from Stamford Associates, was most recently a senior fund research analyst at the firm.

Wood’s promotion follows Quilter Cheviot s integration with and Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) earlier this month to form a combined multi-asset investment solutions unit.

The newly created investment unit will be headed by Quilter Cheviot’s Ben Mountain and OMGI’s Anthony Gillham and comprises portfolio management, fund research, asset allocation and the managed portfolio service.
