Premier Asset Management has promoted Chris White as the new head for the UK equity business.

In his new role, White will manage £75 million Premier UK Growth and the £36 million Premier UK Mid 250 funds, which were formerly managed by Simon King, who has recently quit the company. White will act as an interim manager for these portfolios until a new manager is appointed for these products.

Prior to joining Premier in 2010, White was associated with Threadneedle. He is currently managing the £344 million Premier Income fund and the £170m Premier Monthly Income fund.

In April 2013, Premier merged Premier UK Alpha Growth and £58.3m Premier UK Strategic Growth funds owing to their similar aims and the resultant economies of scale and renamed it to Premier UK Growth.

The recent changes in the equity business are part of the company’s strategy to develop a more team based approach.
