Nearly 90 percent of the UHNW – who have a net worth of $5 million up to $25 million, not including primary residence – cite the political situation as a significant national concern. That’s up significantly from 80 percent of those surveyed in the first quarter of 2012.
The national political scene appears to be aggravating UHNW investors’ concerns about a range of financial issues including tax increases, inflation and the prolonged economic downturn. More than 70 percent of the UHNW indicate they’re worried about taxes, compared to 65 percent last year, and concern over inflation has increased from 60 percent in 2012 to 67 percent this year.
