Canada-based venture capital and private equity investment firm Polar Capital has appointed Deane Donnigan and David Pinniger for its healthcare team, as the company eyes a massive expansion strategy for its healthcare investment products in the near term.

Donnigan was formerly associated with Axa Framlington as fund manager, while David Pinniger was serving as trust manager with International Biotechnology.

A clinical pharmacist by profession, Donnigan had been associated with Framlington’s healthcare unit trust arm between 1997 and 2011. During the period she was escalated to the position of manager for Axa Framlington Healthcare and Biotechnology funds.

With over 12 years experience in the healthcare sector, Pinniger had been associated with International Biotechnology trust of SV Life Sciences for the past five years. Pinniger in his career has also worked with Abingworth and Morgan Stanley as an analyst.
