Pimco has appointed former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke in the role of a senior adviser.
In the new role, Bernanke will advise the firm’s investment committee on macroeconomic issues and monetary policy, as well as take part in client events.

Bernanke stepped down from the Federal Reserve last year. Besides, he is a full-time fellow at the non-partisan Brookings Institution, where he has started writing an economics blog.
Referring to Bernanke’s appointment, Pimco chief Douglas Hodge commented: "We are honoured to have Dr Bernanke serve as an adviser to Pimco, and look forward to benefiting from his extraordinary knowledge and expertise to help us add value for our clients.
