Investment management firm PIMCO in collaboration with Research Affiliates has unveiled four Research Affiliates Equity (RAE) Fundamental equity funds, which will be available for investors in several European countries.

The new funds are: PIMCO GIS RAE Fundamental Global Developed Fund, PIMCO GIS RAE Fundamental Europe Fund,PIMCO GIS RAE Fundamental US Fund and PIMCO GIS RAE Fundamental Emerging Markets Fund.

The funds aim to outperform market benchmarks through a fundamental index-based approach that includes active insights.

Operating as part of PIMCO’s UCITS compliant Global Investor Series (GIS) fund range, the new funds range will provide investors’ access to equity markets such as global developed, European, US large and emerging markets.

The four new funds will select stocks based on non-price measures of company size such as sales, cash flow and dividends.

The funds are now available for distribution in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

The funds will be available in a range of share classes in different currencies, based on client requirements.

The GIS fund range, which is domiciled in Dublin, consists of 56 sub-funds with $93.5bn in assets under management as of 31 March 2015.

PIMCO managing director and equity product manager Sabrina Callin said: "In a low return world, investors will be well served by approaches that provide meaningful return on top of what the market delivers, which can make a big difference over the long term."

PIMCO managing director and head of global wealth management in Europe Ryan Blute said: "The RAE Fundamental strategies have a proven history of outperforming traditional stock market indices, and, in doing this with much greater consistency than typically seen from traditional active equity funds."
