Investment management firm PIMCO has appointed Steve Chiu as the senior vice president and head of Hong Kong retail.

Chiu will be responsible for developing distribution partnerships with financial intermediaries in Hong Kong, with focus on retail banks, insurance firms as well as independent financial advisors.

He will report to head of global wealth management Asia ex-Japan and head of Singapore Michael Thompson.

The company has also appointed Stacie Wang as head of China, global wealth management.

Wang has been tasked with developing partnerships with intermediaries in China, with a focus on private banks, retail banks, domestic asset managers, wealth-management platforms, financial advisors and family offices.

In addition, the firm’s Asia ex-Japan global wealth management business team heads have now taken over dedicated channel responsibilities, with Todd Staley heading the family office sub-channel, Henry Chui on private banks North Asia and Freida Tay on Singapore retail.
