The fund, which will sit within the group’s total return range, aims to identify structural themes in Asia such as a surge in Chinese tourists to Japan or Hong Kong’s retail woes and determine their impact on companies by using local insights and fundamental analysis.

The new strategy will combines long and short positions with the aim of neutralising market risk and generating alpha.

The fund will offer weekly liquidity and daily pricing and is currently registered for sale in Austria, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, and Germany.

Kim said: "As Asian equity markets have expanded and liquidity has improved, the region now makes a market neutral long/short investment strategy a viable and attractive proposition."
