Principal Global Investors (PGI), a US-based diversified asset management firm, has appointed Gaurav Kumar as the new head of funds distribution for the Middle East.
Kumar’s job responsibilities will include developing and strengthening the company’s relationships with key intermediaries, comprising IFAs, fund selectors and key investment platforms, across asset classes and all locations in the Middle East.

Kumar will operate from PGI’s office in Dubai, UAE and will report to Andrea Muller, the chief executive for Asia and the Middle East; and Wassim Nasrallah, managing director and head of the Middle East.
Kumar has more than 15 years of experience in financial services, of which more than 10 years are with Prudential Group.
He was also executive officer and a member of the board of directors for Eastspring Investments (formerly known as Prudential Asset Management) in Dubai, where he was responsible for setting up and managing Prudential’s funds activities across the Middle East.
Kumar, prior to joining PGI, was a partner at Al Masah Capital, a boutique alternative investment company focused on the MENA region.
