Pelican Point Capital Partners has appointed Scott Schuman as new senior adviser to its board.

Prior to joining the Pelican Point Capital advisory board, Scott was a Director in BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group in New York where he focused on Structured Products.

While at BlackRock, he was part of the Securitized Assets Group, which manages billions of dollars of investments in RMBS, CMBS and ABS securities.

In addition, he helped to build and operate a Jumbo Mortgage Conduit, was one of the architects of RMBS Rep and Warranty campaigns and negotiated and designed billions of dollars of "off the run" structured products securities which were purchased by BlackRock funds.

Scott came to BlackRock from Wells Fargo Securities in Charlotte where he was an investment banker focused on wholesale lending to non-depository residential mortgage platforms and securitizations.

Scott began his career in the New York office of Sidley Austin LLP where he was an Associate in the firm’s securitization practice group.
