OppenheimerFunds, a US-based investment management firm, has promoted its chief investment officer Art Steinmetz to the role of president.
Steinmetz, who joined the firm in 1986, officially became president and chief investment officer effective May 31.

"He will retain his current duties, which include overseeing all equity, fixed-income and alternative investment capabilities including investment strategy, strategic planning and personnel," OppenheimerFunds said in a statement.
In his new role, Steinmetz will be responsible to drive the firm’s strategic mission and build the firm’s investment capabilities and culture. He will continue to report to Bill Glavin, chairman and chief executive officer of OppenheimerFunds.
