Oppenheimer Europe, a subsidiary of US-based Oppenheimer Holdings, has expanded its European footprint by setting up a new office in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

The firm also named Jens Munk as the new managing director for the global technology investment banking team and head of the DACH region.

Based in Frankfurt and London, Munk will report to the firm’s CEO and head of investment banking for EMEA Max Lami.

Lami said: “Frankfurt is strategically important for our Global Investment Banking business, and Jens provides us with the right leadership to expand both our technology business as well as other industries.

“Jens has been at the forefront of many of the major trends shaping the technology landscape, working initially as an entrepreneur and operator by building technology businesses, and for the last two decades working with technology business owners and management teams as an adviser and investor. He has an in-depth understanding of the European markets and brings vast experience to our clients.”

Munk has an experience of over 25 years in corporate finance advisory, private equity and technology. He most recently served at private equity firm Kennet Partners.

Munk previously also worked as a technology investment banker at Corporate Finance Partners and Torch Partners, where he offered advice on M&A, divestitures, restructurings, as well as debt and equity financing mandates.
