Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI) has named Craig Stevenson as global head of investment consultant relationships to spearhead the fund manager’s push into the institutional sector.

OMGI said that the new hire demonstrates its goal of broadening and diversifying its institutional client base by building business relationships with investment consultants globally.

Stevenson joined OMGI from Towers Watson, where he worked for eight years in several roles including senior investment consultant and led Equity Hedge Fund research.

Prior to this, he worked with bfinance as a senior associate, and at Standard & Poor as associate director, pension services as well as at Stamford Associates as principal, absolute return strategies.

OMGI head of institutional and alternatives Donald Pepper said: "The growth in our Alternatives business has included a number of new Institutional Clients.
