Kalish most recently worked as the director of US convertible security sales at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.

“Given the sizable opportunity set here in the US, and the demand for Asia Pacific and Australian absolute return funds, NWQ’s globally recognised position in the Australian absolute investments market made the role a very appealing one,” Kalish noted.

As part of its local expansion strategy, the firm also appointed Tim Banfield as national managing director of distribution.

Banfield previously served at Australian fund manager Packer and  as Australian director of Man Investments.
