US-based Northern Trust has
opened its first branch in Beijing, China. Northern Trust has had a
representative office in Beijing since 2005, but has been present
in China since 1999 when it began a co-operation with the Bank of
Communications. The bank said that since 2007, it has grown its
staff in the Asia-Pacific region to more than 2,000 employees at
its offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Melbourne and
Bangalore.
