Chicago-based Northern Trust has appointed Arti Sharma as head of The Northern Trust Company, Canada.
In her new role, Sharma will be based in Toronto and responsible for all of Northern Trust’s operations in the Canadian market.

Sharma has joined Northern Trust from Mercer, where she was a principal and custody practice leader and responsible for business development for Mercer Sentinel services and responsible for the growth and development of the custody practice.
Prior to joining Mercer, she was senior vice president at Thomas Murray North America, where she was the first regional head for North America as part of the organization’s global expansion.
Earlier to Thomas Murray, she worked at CIBC Mellon in executive management and sales positions.
