Burkert, who will be based in New York, will have direct oversight of new business development in the Northeast, including Boston, New York City and Washington, DC.
Burkert, who has 25 years of industry experience, is also a member of the Northern Trust’s regional Executive Leadership Group.

Prior to joining Northern Trust, Burkert had spent two and a half years as the head of Hirtle, Callaghan & Co.’s New York City office, which he had helped establish.
Before that, he spent two decades at Goldman Sachs as a managing director in the securities division. He was one of the original members of the Goldman Sachs Trust Company and served on the institutional sales team.
Later, he co-founded and headed the Global Institutional Group.
