Newton Group, a BNY Mellon company, has launched another fund in the targeted absolute return sector for its existing institutional clients.

Launched on 31 March 2014, the Newton Managed Targeted Return fund will be managed by Tim Wilson, head of strategy and asset allocation at Newton.

Additionally, Wilson will also manage the £170 million Newton Managed Income fund, which resides in the IMA Mixed Investment 20%-60% Shares sector.

With £9 billion in assets under management, the new fund will target an annual return of 4% over the retail prices index over five-year rolling periods.

According to a BNY Mellon spokesperson, "The Newton Managed Targeted Return fund has been established to provide a pooled solution to Newton’s existing institutional investors.

"The fund is permitted to hold up to 100 per cent in other Newton collective investment schemes and also has the flexibility to be 100%directly invested."
