Neuberger Berman has unveiled a new Long Short Equity Fund for investors seeking long-term capital appreciation, principal preservation and reduced volatility from the US equity market.
The new US Long Short Equity Fund, a sub-fund of its Irish-domiciled UCITS fund umbrella, will be managed by Charles Kantor and will use an all cap, bottom up investment approach.

The fund will invest in long businesses with strong management teams and compelling valuations, while short positions will aim to generate alpha or provide insurance to manage exposure and reduce risks.
Neuberger Berman said that the fund will be able to invest in fixed income and equities outside the US and Canada.
Additionally, Kantor’s team will also be supported by the firm’s proprietary equity and fixed income trading desks, a centralised global equity research department, and risk oversight specialists.
Kantor said: "The timing is especially appropriate as we anticipate increased equity volatility driven by the challenges of unwinding unprecedented Fed liquidity and a business cycle that is in the later stages."
