American investment manager Neuberger Berman has appointed Erik Knutzen as its new multi-asset class chief investment officer.

In his new role, Knutzen will be responsible for managing the asset allocation process on a firm-wide level as well as create related client content for strategic partnerships and multi-asset class solutions.

Knutzen joins from NEPC, LLC where he served as chief investment officer since 2008. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including nine years at Putnam Investments.
