The Neptune Global Long/Short Sector fund, which was launched in 2011 to invest in shorting sectors rather than individual companies, was closed on 16 December 2013 following Alexander’s departure.
The fund has invested in derivatives that replicate the returns of 10 sectors of 20 to 50 large stocks.
Alexander’s departure follows the exit of its former UK Alpha manager Nicola Muirhead to River and Mercantile Asset Management.
