Nedbank Private Wealth, the offshore private bank majority-owned by South Africa’s Old Mutual, has bolstered its client support team in Dubai.

The company has hired Greg Smith to its Dubai office and Claire Quayle as a new personal banker. The 30-member support team will be led by Gordon Crowe.

Greg Smith has over seven years of experience in the financial services sector in Dubai and worked in multiple business development and advisory positions.

Smith joins Nedbank from Lloyds TSB, where he served as a wealth team executive in the private banking department.

In the new role, Smith will interact with a dedicated HNW client service team recently appointed to extend product and service support.

The company’s Middle East head Andrew Bates said that the firm has doubled its client base as well as doubled its number of assets under management from the Middle East.
