The Caprock Group, an Idaho based multi-family office, has opened new office in Newport Beach, California and hired former Merrill Lynch executive Greg Mech to lead its new office.
Mech has spent 29 years Merrill Lynch & Co, now a part of Bank of America Corp serving in many senior roles, most recently as managing director, where he led over 2,000 employees serving high net-worth families in the Western U.S. managing over US$100 billion in client assets and liabilities.

Mech was also the market president for Bank of America in Orange County, California. He is the founder of eMaxx Partners, a virtual financial advisory firm, which was launched last year.
Besides leading the firm’s Newport Beach office, Mech will also continue his role as president of Silverlakes, a group developing the largest youth soccer and field sports facility in North America.
