Morgan Stanley has hired Geoff Kendrick and Kewei Yang to bolster its macro research team in Asia.

Kendrick will be new head of Asian FX & Local Rates Strategy, while Yang will have responsibility for Asia Pacific Interest Rate Strategy reporting to Kendrick.

Both Kendrick and Yang will be based in Hong Kong and have joined as executive directors.

Kendrick, who has nearly 15 years of global markets experience, has most recently served as head of European FX Strategy at Nomura in London.

Yang, who is an expert on China’s fixed income markets, joined Morgan Stanley from Nomura in Singapore.
