Morgan Creek Capital Management, a US-based investment manager, has launched a new private wealth advisory team, which will be headed by Michael Forstl.

Forstl joined the firm as a senior managing director and head of intermediary distribution in 2014.

The new team will work primarily with intermediary distribution channels, with a focus on wealth advisors overseeing $500m to $2bn in assets, the company said.

Other members of the newly formed include Christopher Arnold, who will oversee the northern region; Tony Wilson, who will oversee the west region; and Joseph McQuaid, who will oversee the Southern region.

Arnold joined Morgan Creek from Model Capital Management, where he worked as a strategy consultant. He also worked as a national sales manager at Beaumont Capital Management and held roles at Windham Capital Management and TS Capital.

Prior to joining Morgan Creek, McQuaid worked at Guggenheim Investments as a regional vice president. Prior to this, he worked for nine years at Mainstay Investments and was most recently national sales manager for the RIA channel.

Wilson joined Morgan Creek from Highland Capital Management, where he worked as a senior director managing the western US region. Earlier to this, he worked with Artio Global Investors and Turner Investment Partners.
